Privacy Policy

Most privacy policies are written to make broad data collection sound acceptable. This one is short because there is very little to describe: the files you convert here are never sent to us.

Your files are never uploaded

Every conversion, compression and optimisation on this site runs inside your own browser, using WebAssembly modules that your browser downloads and executes locally. The file you select is read from your disk by your browser and processed on your own processor.

We do not receive your files. We do not store them, scan them, log their names, or hold them temporarily. There is no server-side processing pipeline for us to keep files in, because there is no server-side processing at all.

You do not have to take our word for this. Open your browser developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a file. No request carrying your image will appear.

What our hosting provider records

This site is served as static files from a content delivery network. Like every web server, it records standard request information: the IP address the request came from, the time, the page or asset requested, the browser user agent, and the referring page.

These logs exist for security and reliability — detecting abuse, diagnosing outages — and are handled by our hosting provider under their own retention policy. They contain no information about the contents of any file you process, because that information never reaches the network.

Cookies and local storage

The tools themselves set no cookies and require no account. Your browser may cache the page and the WebAssembly modules so that the site loads faster and keeps working offline; that cache lives on your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

If we display advertising, the advertising provider may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser to measure and select ads. That is the advertising provider acting as an independent controller of that data, not us; it is described in their own privacy policy, and it is separate from anything to do with your files.

Advertising

This site is funded by advertising. Advertising partners and their networks may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some regions will ask for your consent before doing so.

Advertising has no access to the images you process. Your files exist only in the memory of your own browser tab and are discarded when you close or reload the page.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are used and where the site is slow. Any such measurement is limited to page-level events. It never includes file names, file contents, image dimensions or anything derived from what you convert.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the tools, there is generally no account, profile or file history for us to export or delete. Requests relating to server logs or advertising identifiers can be sent to the contact address below and we will direct them to the right provider where necessary.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with comparable legislation, the rights those laws give you apply here regardless of whether we hold much data to which they attach.

Children

This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the way this site works changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example if a tool ever needs server-side processing — this page will be updated before that tool is released, and the tool itself will state clearly that it uploads your file. We will not quietly change the fundamental promise.
